UX/UI Designer
Eligibility Requirements:
Be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period;
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, or international student* for the duration of the program
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and
Will not be holding another Canada Summer Jobs position at the same time.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Meeting with management to discuss the plan and needs of an updated website
Collaborating with team members to determine the website’s layout, content, and design
Integrating graphics, tools, animations, and video into the website
Developing guides and Loom videos to assist other team members in learning how to update the website
Creating and testing applications for the website
Other
Understanding of the organization, its purpose, history, policies and programs
Represent the organization in a professional and congenial manner in videos and in meetings
Delegation or sharing of duties with others as necessary
Other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications:
Familiarity with UX/UI design principles
Proficient in design software
Excellent communication skills
A portfolio of work building other websites available for the assessment of skills in user experience/interface design during application process
Assets:
Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role
Bilingualism in English and French
