Youth Green Jobs Network
About the Youth Green Jobs Network
The Youth Green Jobs Network was developed out of the demand to provide underserved youth with employment opportunities in sustainability.
The primary activities of the group are as follows:
Connecting young people with green job opportunities
Networking with industry leaders in the environmental field
Sharing ways in which environmental organizations are contributing to more JEDI practices, and helping other organizations do the same
Assisting organizations in finding and accessing green job wage subsidy supports
Feel free to contact us at: youthgreenjobsnetwork@greencareer.ca
By providing a platform that amplifies the voices of underserved youth and smaller resource constrained organizations who lack capacity to promote their job opportunities, we have developed community guidelines to ensure that we are being equitable, fair and inclusive in our practices.

Testimonials
Jenna Phillips (youth)
“The Youth Green Job Network was a resource I had been searching for for years. Prior to joining the network, I struggled to find jobs relevant to my education and interests on standard job boards, or searching company websites when there are so many early startups and small NGOs in this field. Existing boards do not cater to young/early career professionals, let alone those interested in the environmental or sustainability space. Through the Network, I obtained several interviews and landed my summer job. I also loved connecting with new young professionals, and staying up-to-date about where the young professionals already in my network were doing. I will continue to use the Network for work opportunities during my Masters and beyond!”
Mishika Khurana (BIPOC youth)
“I have applied, interviewed and received multiple jobs that I discovered through the Youth Green Jobs Network, allowing me to pave my way into green jobs and a career path I am passionate for. While scrolling through LinkedIn one day, I found the Green Career Centre, very overwhelmed with all the information posted on LinkedIn daily. This group had jobs catering to youth wanting green jobs, making it easier to see which jobs I was interested in and qualified for. I found myself consistently using this network to discover employment, workshops and resources I could take advantage of while I was a student. This allows LinkedIn and job hunting to be less overwhelming as you're surrounded by a group of people encouraging your professional growth!”
Maria Jose (MJ) Torres (newcomer youth)
“The Youth Green Jobs Network LinkedIn Group helped me out by making the green job search less stressful. It provided a safe space to express concerns and ask questions. It is a group full of collaboration, [where] members share any information and jobs that they think may benefit others. It [is] also a great space to build my network. I have been able to relate with people that have been in a similar position [as] me and we can collaborate on what each of us has experienced so that all of us succeed.”
