Youth Green Jobs Network Manager

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment period;

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, or international student* for the duration of the program;

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and

  • Will not be holding another Canada Summer Jobs position at the same time.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Researching youth green jobs and making daily posts in the Youth Green Jobs Network

  • Developing a sales strategy for attracting employers to pay to promote their jobs in the Youth Green Jobs Network

  • Curating a bi-weekly list of youth green jobs, events and resources to share with our community

  • Updating community guidelines including how to source good green jobs for youth

  • Inviting sustainability connections and community leaders to join the group

  • Approving membership requests and posts adhering to our guidelines

  • Sending welcome message to new network members

  • Increasing the membership and reach of the network by sharing the network and our resources with like minded community members, businesses, NGOs, nonprofits and charities

  • Writing blog content for our website to increase traffic to the Youth Green Jobs Network and our other resources

  • Speaking on podcasts to increase traffic to the Youth Green Jobs Network and our other resources

  • Interviewing industry professionals about their green career experiences for our social media pages

  • Interviewing members and employers to source their testimonials using the Youth Green Jobs Network

  • Developing additional strategies to increase group membership

Other 

  • Understanding of the organization, its purpose, history, policies and programs

  • Represent the organization in a professional and congenial manner in videos and in meetings

  • Delegation or sharing of duties with others as necessary 

  • Other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Passion for helping youth attain good green jobs

  • Knowledge of employers offering youth green jobs in what is currently known as Canada

Assets:

  • Sales experience in lead generation and developing sales funnels

  • Experience working with youth and community-led groups

  • Experience with research in the environmental field

  • Bilingualism in English and French
